Beginner Sewing Class: Book Case

Protect your favorite book with a custom handmade book case! In this beginner-friendly class, students will learn the basics of sewing while creating a fabric book case with a Velcro closure. This project is perfect for building confidence at the sewing machine while making a practical accessory for books, journals, planners, or notebooks.

Skill Level: Beginner (No prior sewing experience required.)

Students Will Learn:

• Basic sewing machine operation
• How to cut fabric accurately
• Sewing straight seams
• How to construct a fabric book case
• How to attach a Velcro closure
• Basic pressing and finishing techniques

Supplies Needed:

• 1 yard of 100% cotton fabric
• Matching all-purpose thread
• 1 package of sew-on Velcro (hook-and-loop tape)

Please Note:
To ensure our sewing machines perform properly, heavy-weight fabrics are not permitted. Please do not bring canvas, denim, upholstery fabric, fleece, minky, velvet, leather, vinyl, or other thick materials. This class is designed for light- to medium-weight 100% cotton fabric only.
